|
|
I purchased a coco-tube worm a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to be doing fine for about a week and 1/2. Now for the last 3 days, it hasn't come out of the tube. Should I be worried? What can I do to get it to come out?
Thanks,
John

It may have died stick your hand in and give a gental pinch if you feel something in there he may just be adjusting even tho he was doing fine , He may have something picking on him as well such as a crab , shrimp or fish . What are your critters in your tank .

It may very well be nothing but creatures like coco worms and featherdusters are sensitive to changes in your tank. You may want to check your water parameters since it hasn't been out for a couple of days.

I see the worm in the tube. It moves sometimes but isn't coming all the way out.
Should the entire back end of the tube be burried in the sand? What is the best way to place this worm?

placement should be in the sand , it is not unusual for them to some what bury thier tube . I placed mine between 2 rocks where he then attached to them (being careful not to smash the tube) . with light flow where he is not blown around , ours is kinda protected from high flow , ours may not come out for a day or two at a time but I would say that something is probably bothering him . try to place away from corals that could sting him .What are his tank mates
Fish , shrimp , ect

I have a clown fish, a firetail fish, 2 cleaner shrimp, some blue-legged hermit crabs (15 or so), and about 8-10 snails.

Could be the cleaners trying to clean the crown . or even a hermit tho mine usually leave it alone.
Try watching after lights out for something near by picking on it .
Other wise you can move it to the oposite side of the tank to see if that encourages him out a bit .
